I'ts my very own
Wine Time

✨Celebrating the creation of my very own first wine! 🥂🍷

Dear wine lover,

I am grateful and proud at the same time to present my first wine. It’s almost like a dream come true after some many years of being a wine enthusiast. In short just so much. It’s a very unique wine made from a very uncommon blend of grapes. Here is more information about my very first wine.

Like every year since I started my Dip WSET program the first wine event after dry January is Barcelona Wine Week. This is a great venue to see some friends again but most important discover and learn about the vast Spanish wine landscape apart from what most people know like Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Priorat or Rueda for whites. I can highly recommend it.

Recently I got involved in selling entire wine collections which have survived their owners. I was contacted by a widow of a huge wine lover and asked for advice. In the meantime I have divested 3 wine cellars of considerable quantity boasting very high level collectable wines. Drop me a line if you want to find out more.

I have concluded my latest challenge. I began my WSET Level 4 Diploma studies at the Austrian Wine Academy and after great seminars and tough theory and tasting exams finished about 2 1/2 years later while working full time. Besides learning a lot I met a bunch of great people from all over, which most of them are from a different generation 😀. So besides studying we had a lot of fun enjoying wines and time together.

Yeah, there has been a lot of “wine time“ all around the world, while travelling, visiting wineries, going on wine specific trips or just enjoying a special one with food.

Check out my wine stories with great trips to various wine regions and unforgettable moments with my fellow students.

Meanwhile keeping staying curious and looking for new and great tastes — plus drop me a comment (mail) if you like.

Lots of 🍷🍾, Albert

Latest Wine Stories

«What would life be without wine, hard to imagine. Sharing a good bottle of wine with loved ones and friends just can’t be underestimated. Every single bottle of wine has its own story to tell. Let’s discover them all!»

Wine has been with me for over 40 years. It started on Sundays when at age 10 my father let me have ONE! glass for lunch.

Not a lot changed for the first ten years but I continued to like to drink it with food at my parents house since I could not afford it myself. This all changed when I started my first real job after university and “invested” part of my first bonus into a case of Bordeaux in 1990.

From then on my interest and passion grew and by the early 1990ies my friends made me take them in a small bus to Burgundy with me in the front on the microphone!

I started to build a decent wine cellar with over 5000 bottles at peak in the mid 2000s. Even though I have moved to a much bigger wine cellar in the mean time, overall stock has come down in order to avoid “dead bottles” and besides the real collectibles, have stock churning at a healthy rate.

To this day I have not been involved in the business of wine in any capacity even though many people continue to ask why not. However I have been studying wine at WSET starting in 2001 with Level 1. After passing Level 3 in 2013 I never imagined to continue on to Level 4 and the Diploma. But, hey you’re never to old not to study and finally in 2021 started Diploma school which took over 2 1/2 years while working (not in wine) to finish.
