You want a nicer wine cellar or even have too much!
I have been enjoying and seriously buying wine since the beginning 90ies. I started as a novice but got into wine and wine cellars over the years. I have visited countless wineries and their cellars in every country I have been.
I have personally built 3 wine cellars and have consulted the construction of a good number. One might be surprised how just little changes can make a clearly visible impact. Another important and useful side of cellar arrangement is that the wines are much better organized and to be found.
I am also frequently surprised to find out that serious wine drinkers and buyers don’t really know exactly what they have in their cellar. I can’t express the importance of at least a simple wine list or even an electronic aid, it being an excel sheet or one of the various available apps.
Wine stock resale
From experience I know that is is not uncommon that our preference in wine changes over time. Something liked and appreciated years ago might not be at the top of the love list anymore.
You might have a lost a wine lover and don’t know what to do with his or hers precious stock. Don’t fall for novice friends on advice or even suggestions what this or that other bottle might be worth. I have gotten into this space after one of my friends’ husbands passed away leaving a sizable and prestigious collection and she was lost. I arranged the entire sale, parts in block, parts over action, with full transparency.
Since then I have had the opportunity to sell a few other wine cellars and really enjoy it besides getting an even better feel for the overall wine market (which is having its difficulties especially in the premium sector) as well as single bottle prices.
