Zug, notably my home town, is nested neatly at the confluence of the Swiss Alp into the midland with the mountain Rigi as its most prominent feature. While the Rigi is only 1799m high (not considered high for a Swiss standards), it comes across as much taller due to the steep decline from its peak down to Lake Zug at just over 400m. On days with high visibility the central mountain ranges with peaks over 4000m, including the famous Jungfrau munch & Eiger can easily seen by eye.
With around only 35’000 inhabitants Zug is probably the smallest international community in the world boasting more that 130 nationalities thanks to many international companies who operate globally from here. The larger Zug area has around 130’000 inhabitants while much more famous Luzern and Zurich are only just over 20 minutes away.
Besides know as a 1st choice business hub, the town is nested at the east side of the lake, at the bottom of Zugerberg with many leisure attractions closed by and of course Europe most spectacular sunsets due to free sight over the lake and only very low hills towards west.
This town is a treat year round, in sunshine, fog or rain, it just adds to its character
Spring
When winter is finally retreating, the days are getting longer and warmer, nature wakes up again and visibility is high, those are the ingredients for fabulous vistas over old town, the blue lake towards the still snow packed high Alps in the background.
